No, it’s just another of my rants. But why do people keep using the expression ‘fairly unique’. It can’t be, if it is not unique, it just isn’t at all unique! I suppose you could say ‘fairly rare’ or ‘extremely rare’, but not ‘extremely unique’ or ‘almost unique’, or the worst of all ‘nearly unique’.
It really winds me up when presenters or journalists use ‘fairly unique’ and they keep doing it! Send them back to school.
