The Owl and the Pussycat

I was going to save this as I’ve already posted today, but it has come out so much better than I’d hoped. It was a practice piece but really I doubt I can do much better. I have the background made for the ‘proper’ one so I’ll try to improve it, but here is my version of The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea green boat.

The owl and the pussycat

The colour of the boat is a bit more pea green than the picture shows and I did notice that the owl is a bit boss eyed but decided I’d keep him that way.

I hope you like it.

Love it! So cute, if it’s was 2 pussy cats I’d have to have it!!

This is adorable. So many will just love your new piece!!!

  3. Hi Elaine… sorry to have taken so long to come and see your latest baby. Decorating a Fairy Shoe Box and then eating Lemon Pepper Chicken got in the way!

I agree with Kittencraft – the Owl and the Pussycat is cute … but I disagree with you. (eek!). You say that you don’t think you could improve on it – but I think you can. You have a great talent, you just doubt your own abilities. I’d love to give you a few hints and tips (and see if I could encourage you to make another pendant – this time with a couple of changes). But don’t get rid of this one. It’s very worthy.

Since I follow you …. Do you have my email address? I’m wondering if perhaps emailing you a few hints and tips would be better than trying to tap them out into a comment. I’d hate to take up a huge space with a ‘comment’ of hints and tips.

That shoebox sounds fascinating. I’d really like some guidance and appreciate the offer. You can contact me at elaine.mountfort@gmail.com. I’m very new at polymer clay, just learning via YouTube, so no advice is too basic. Thank you.

Coincidence – I didn’t worry about the delay, I was being distracted myself by Kentucky style pepper chicken.

  4. Ok… I’ll go and put something together and email it. Polymer is a fantastic medium for small ‘stuff’, as you’re finding out. More than happy to pass on things I’ve learned over the years.

  5. I like how you twirled the clay for the waves under the boat – it gives it a sense of movement through the water. Have you removed the ‘like’ button from your blog?

  6. That is really impressive for a practice piece, well done! I really like it anyway…I tried to use Polymer clay once but my rather ancient and knackered oven burnt the clay and I haven’t tried since! I do have some stashed away though, for when I feel the creative urge to play!
